https://anonymousspeech.com is owned by a lightning node runner. It attempts but fails (in brave) to load this webpage in an iframe: https://bitcoin-lightning-server-fyzkvug.gamma.site/.
Looks like they've taken it offline though: https://amboss.space/node/02d3b210b41f49283a0aa1c6c919c10a3f1fc003a9299a57bcd9323140446b2036
https://anonymousspeech.com was used by satoshi as their contact email address in the first version of the whitepaper according to https://thebitcoinwhitepapers.com/
Didn't want to waste too much time or money because I'm not clicking that anyway, clanker report says it's unlikely to be a trojan.

wait, can I just create a Lightning node with that alias and claim it's me?
Waking up to the smell of new carpeting. Ahh,....industrial off-gassing guuuud.

Two platforms that contacted me to give expert feedback on AI-generated physics output independently informed me that their client (i.e. the AI company) is pausing the project, indefinitely.
Lack of funds?
If the scope of the pause is "the project" and not "the company", there are other options:
Somehow, all these options feel like positive outcomes, accelerating their demise.
China won the AI war- because they have the power.
A friend went to a talk about VC, and they said a lot of companies raise on impressive revenue numbers but have 100% churn; ie lots of people trying things out then realizing there isn't much value in another "harness."
So, like, a lot of people signing up for a month or two, but then not sticking with the product afterwards?
Yep, and willing to pay a high monthly fee - initially.
Huh, interesting. Yeah, I was getting a number of these emails, and was semi-tempted to try it out. If I was less busy at the time, I may have given it a go.
I haven't received any emails about a pause though. Did you actually respond to any of those emails?
Yeah, the potential pay was too good to ignore.
I joined an onboarding Zoom call with an AI bro who had no idea how he was supposed to check my technical ability, still ended up inside two Slacks where I was assigned some tasks.
One had 70,000 people in it, and it was quickly obvious we were disposable, with many people complaining about not getting paid, so I never started any of the assignments (basically, was supposed to record myself solving a specialized task... but didn't feel like breaking the IP rules from my employer, nor had any time recently to work on something unrelated at night or over the weekend).
The other one was much more selective (I guess only tenure(track) PhD's), but the highly specialized task I was assigned came on very short notice while I was away with the family on the weekend, with expected delivery two days after. The list of problems they were trying to get us to solve are holygraal problems in physics.
From Xapo: "We are writing to let you know that we are currently experiencing processing delays for crypto deposits and withdrawals. Rest assured, your funds are secure, and pending transactions will be processed as soon as possible."
'When you govern without any evident regard for the voters who elected you; when you start a war with no proper explanation for it and no real plan to end it; when that war results in punishingly high prices for the things people need to live by, on top of the higher prices they already have to pay because you raised taxes on imports on a whim and a lunatic economic theory; when you use your office to enrich yourself and your cronies with lucrative deals on a scale that would make the Bourbons blush; when you direct law enforcement to spend their time prosecuting your political foes; when you side with America’s enemies and menace its friends; when you act as though the only things that matter to you are putting your name on government buildings and constructing a ballroom; above all, when you tell voters that criticism of all this is fake news and they just need to get in line and do what they’re told ... when you do all this, is anyone surprised when voters say: “You’re fired”?'

@optimism @k00b thoughts?
Good is loaded. When given a prompt that sets scope well, AI more often than not now writes correct code which by most programmers' definition is "good" ... enough. AI still does not write code that's as a clear as most "good" human programmers. For people that don't read their own/other people's code that's probably okay, and AI probably does write more readable code than they do because they never developed a taste for it.
AI doesn't write my code. It may prototype something for me, or fix up something I messed up, but it rarely leaves my private env.
My #1 action is: ask bot to write PR internally, look at the code, meathook it one abstraction level higher, let bot review 20x but with comments, not code, then fix all that up into something neat.
Lot more work, 10x more readable code as a result.

New Zealand votes for a new government today.
Probable we get a Socialist Labour Party led government with plans for a CGT and maybe a Wealth tax.
Tax the rich.
Bernie Sanders for POTUS 2028
@coffeebadger should move to Texas and learn about the Socialist Tsunami sweeping the world.
From Spain to Canada to Texas to New Zealand . . . sweeping the globe with hybrid vigour mixed economies.
Zionist war criminals and their apologists are the Big Losers.
Impeach Trump and Lock Him Up.
Bomb Texas. Death to all leftists.
pls no i think i want to move there next year
No one is moving anywhere for a better life. The Revolution will follow you. What is your individual human life worth next to the great game of maps?
what?
Food stamps loser.
Realized this morning that a couple months ago I transferred my entire apartment building's gas bill to my account lol.
This round’s on k00b!
Yep I know how to covertly do a couple hundred people a favor now.
how did that happen?
When we moved in I transferred service but there's only one meter for the building so it moved to my account. There's no authentication when you try to pay someone's bill. It's kind of weird.
I remember thinking this was strange when I started renting places.

Realized today that I've been buying sandals from Shamma, roughly once a year, for over a decade.
Once a year seems high frequency for that price! Are you wearing them out? I either wear rainbows, nothing, or if i'm getting high volume steps earth runners. The earth runners so far feel like they'll last a life time.
I walk A LOT. Now it's only a couple miles a day but a few years ago I was walking six miles daily. I'm also a chonky boy and I get the 6mm soles usually.
edit: they also let me move the toe plug backward because I have freakishly long toes

Send them review #5625...
I never write reviews. Bad habit.
Did you say [REVIEW]? :)
I don't think 5625 humans bothered writing those. They probably come with the Shopify starting pack subscription.
My recent order number was 61041 so presuming that means 60k orders, that's a ~10% review rate. I'd expect closer to 1% so you may be right.
And if we assume that you are 40 years old (don't correct me if I'm wrong), and have been buying yearly since your 20s, that's a factor of 20 to account for duplicate owners (well, you may be their best customer, so that's an upper bound on the factor).
I remembered some passages from a book I read in the past that was talking about how crime will diminish in a digital economy. This time I checked Sovereign Individual first and yes it mentions that[1]. It mentions it a lot in fact.
Would it be a worthy study to find out why we don't see this in our current digital reality?
big yay for converting all my
epubs tomarkdown(and vice versa) so that I cangrepbooks. This is such an awesome thing. ↩Maybe they were thinking mostly of violent crime? It has certainly decreased in the US, but also possibly I'm the rest of the world.
Some references to violent crime, economic violence, "covert violence to control resources", yeah.
I also see some points about how encryption makes criminals obsolete tho. We may have some recent examples why we have a little bit more work to do on that.
