lmao this is the twitteriest of twitter logic I've seen posted on SN yet

it's got the same energy of the bip 110 people... "I don't think transactions should be censored" becomes "you support csam on the blockchain"

I looked through my muted list on here: at least they seem to be gone now. I mean, they don't have lightning afaik haha (should be easy to support)

I agree. I don't know what @kruw is going after here.

I was seconding @supratic in case that isn't clear.

Really? I think it's brutally simple. Answer these questions with "True" or "False":

  1. Ark users can't let their phones sleep
  2. Lightning users can't let their phones sleep

  1. I recently saw some code for a bArk https://second.tech wallet that wakes-up the wallet using background notifications in order to refresh VTXO's. The walled gardens that are Apple and Google could attempt to restrict this in the future, but the worst case is that Ark have custody of your funds which is no different to Wallet of Satoshi and most other popular Lighting wallets. Right now, if VTXO's expire, bArk just sweeps the value back to you - it's irrational for them to cheat, because people will stop using their Ark.
  2. As per previous, the vast majoirty of Lightning wallets are Third Party Custody anyway. Wallet of Satoshi (Spark) is effectively third party custody because there is no unilateral exit. Spark is also a shitcoin because it's also a state chain that doesn't proce reserves. The notable exception is Phoenix where your device holds the key but ACINQ infrastructure runs the node without knowledge of your key. Lexe wallet uses Intel SGX "Secure Enclave" but it's not secure because the silicon has backdoors, and anyone with physical access can so side channel attacks.

So, Justin is mostly wrong about (1) but mostly right about (2). I don't think he's a scammer... just a little disillusioned in thinking that more than half-a-dozen people are going to use Bitcoin over some weirdass Nostr protocol... and he's spending a bit too much energy trying to manifest this into reality.

TL;Dr, everything is fucked

I agree that lightning and ark both have liveness requirements. I don't agree that Justin's statement makes "caught trying to drain lightning wallets"

Argue on the merits of the topic, don't make up ridiculous claims about someone being a scammer.

Your two sentences contradict each other: Can you give any other reason why Lightning has a liveness requirement other than to prevent your funds from being drained?...

I didn't even suggest mobile lightning was safe, I'm literally the only one not making a mobile node at this point

Justice transactions still make it safer than ark though 🤣
