Hello Stackers
As you all know that I'm from India and we are a country whose National Game is Hockey (Field). Although, hockey isn't our first love as far as sports are concerned. We worship Cricket like religion.
Many Indians consider cricket more than just a sport because it is deeply intertwined with national pride, provides a sense of unity across diverse cultures within the country, and is often seen as a vehicle for social and economic mobility.
What is so good about cricket?
Cricket is a popular sport where most people enjoy the strategic and tactical aspects of the game, as well as the sense of suspense and sportsmanship. It's a game that fosters a sense of community and camaraderie among players and fans. Additionally, the international nature of cricket allows for diverse cultural exchanges and global competition. Overall, cricket offers a unique blend of athleticism, strategy, and tradition that appeals to a wide range of people around the world.

Here are some good points about cricket -

This is the only sport I know where you can see two teams compete for 5 days or 1 day or 3 hours or 1.5 or even for a few minutes but it can still have situations where the result can't be predicted until the last ball is bowled.

Unlike football/hockey, most matches end with an actual result.

One of the few games where players with different abilities compete together.

Age is just a number. You can be a good player at 15 years of age or 40 years.

Multiple formats, so everyone can enjoy. From hardcore followers to casual supporters.

Less prone to injury

Though it is very technical in nature, the beauty is that you can simplify it to the level you want.

You can have all the equipments or just a bat shaped piece of wood and a round thing that can be used as a ball, and start playing.

Currently, we are in the midst of Cricket's most prominent and richest legue, Indian Premier Legue. I'm eying a definite victory for RR but who knows after all Cricket is such a highly speculative game.
