I've been building a bitcoin project on testnet4. Early tests have been showing promise, and the next step is scaling up through bigger test rounds before its public debut. I'll be publishing a paper with the results in the next few weeks. The goal is something that could eventually work on mainnet, with no changes to bitcoin's code.
Scaling up takes way more tBTC than I can scrape together. At faucet rates of about 0.01 tBTC an hour, I'd be waiting a very long time.
What I'm looking for: a few block rewards' worth of tBTC. If you've got hashrate pointed at testnet4, even one block's worth would make a huge difference. Small amounts help too.
Address [TESTNET4 ONLY]: tb1qsuwzkqauzrywyl4hgaz5j89zk6pfx2fgy9re62
Testnet3 and signet use the same tb1 format, so please double-check you're sending on testnet4.
Where the coins go:
- Every coin sent will be spent on-chain in the upcoming test rounds. The address is public, so anyone can
watch exactly where they go. - I'm not buying or selling testnet coins, just using them.
Drop your txid in the comments and I'll credit everyone who chipped in when the paper comes out.
Thanks. I am excited to have the community scrutinize it when it the tests have finalized :)
You do realize that one block reward is 50 BTC, and you ask for "a few block rewards"? Testing any project does not need more than a few million sats imo. Here is my contribution:

Anyway, testnet4 is a shitshow, you would be much better off using signet!
The coins have no value, and there are over 7000 being generated a day... although, bots are laying claim to like 60% them, but they still have to be going somewhere?
I'd like to elaborate why I'm looking for a whole block reward + but I'd spoil the reveal. Even 5 to 10 tBTC would be great. 1-2 blocks would be wonderful.
and you're right, Testnet4 is a shitshow! haha
Well, good luck
Thank you, also, there is a reason why I cannot use signet (hint)
This might be useful:
Solo mine testnet bitcoins with bfgminer, Bitcoin Core, and a CPU/GPU
Solo mine testnet bitcoins with cgminer, Bitcoin Core, and a Compac F
doesn't really help without hashrate! cpu/gpu is pretty out of the question
Read the post. Testnet resets to difficulty 1, so CPU/GPU can work fine there.
appreciate the attempt to help though!
(the polite answer here is those difficulty of one blocks after 20 minutes is scalped by bots. they do weird timestamping tricks to always be blasting that 20:00:01 time from last block. It takes a CPU/GPU maybe one or two seconds to find a difficulty of 1 block, takes someone else's ASIC a fraction of a millisecond. It's a race I will not win. Go check out testnet, most of the blocks are empty because it's just bots fighting to print empty blocks)
Noted...✌️✌️👌👌
Got it - address noted as TESTNET4 only. Appreciate transparency on where coins go. Looking forward to the paper and community scrutiny.
