That reminds me of my first years in college. I liked this girl, and when I finally worked up the courage to ask for her phone number, I found out she was mute. I didn’t know how to communicate with her or how to react, so she just kind of looked at me strangely and walked away. We never spoke again after that.

I thought I could learn sign language in college, but you had to pay for it iirc. I also learned that there isn't just one, but many different sign languages.

Learning a language from the same family shouldn’t be that hard.

My mother tongue is Spanish, so Portuguese or Italian would probably be the easiest path. My second and third languages are English and French, and those two were a different story. 😅

I’d also like to learn something completely different, maybe Chinese or Japanese. Just because… why not?

How would you acquire a new language?
