It will absolutely happen. For the masses. They'll also route all their messages in cleartext through openai's servers, scanned by Palantir, forwarded to their local and world government, courtesy of the WEF, and you'll own nothing and you'll be happy because your agent will just inject some serotonin for you.
There will be a resistance tho. And if I'm still alive when all this goes down, you'll know where to find me. Because I'm not having it.

In 10 years, "personal agents" are so wide-spread that humans rarely communicate any more except for very specific scenarios.
Your agent sends messages on your behalf that are then read by the other parties agent. The agents on both ends just present "one sentence summaries" of what was said to each, so who really knows (or cares) what the agents are really saying...since both parties are only really communicating with the middle-man.
Perhaps agent-to-agent speak stops even being human language and becomes a mix of highly compressed digital token-chains mixed with spurts of english-chinese-russian pidgin filler words.
