I was surprised with a huge reward and went to see where it came from. Apparently, someone spent a huge amount of sats downzapping yesterday, way over the trendline.
The posts from the "day" don't have that many, 10k sats at most: https://stacker.news/top/posts/day?by=downsats
But if you filter by week, you see these two posts accumulating a total of almost 2M sats in downzaps
@dendehomie who hates you so much?
@k00b just being generous here i guess... he coulda kept the sats to himself but he chose to distribute?
Why downzap instead of donating?
i been thinking about this. the more he downzaps it, the more popular nah token becomes.
is this his way of saying "take these sats and go buy some nahs"?
to get more advertising fees as i try to boost :)
he has to do it because territory founders have no incentive to do so.
I don’t think people hate the person, I think they just hate their posts!
Agreed, just wanted to dramatize.
Although that's not true for @justin_shocknet that gets donwzapped no matter what he says xD
That’s another thing I don’t really know much about.
SILENCE, i kill u
so @k00b? I guess @dendehomie spent to boost and @k00b to "unboost".
Territory founders have zero incentive to downzap, and they should be the first to do so and moderate content in their respective territories.
Why was the 70/30 split removed?
You already get 70% of the boost monies as a territory owner. There's no excuse except greed.
I'm aware founders get 70% of boost fees. The real problem is incentive asymmetry: keeping junk out of your territories could become a cost, like in the past few days, and seem k00b is absorbing it.
If you want to do the right thing, you have an incentive. There are 2 territory owners downzapping. And there are others that are not. It is fine. I raised it, no one felt compelled by it. I called out people that were virtue signaling, they just double down on their bullshit and still make half a million sats off a scammer.
At this point, I'd conclude that it is not needed to expect anything from anyone. Stackers are selfish af. Noted. Let's move on. I'll still try to keep my territory clean. Other territories that structurally profit from scams will eventually be muted, for all I care until there's just k00b's territories left and my own.
It's a perfect test of who we have here and it's the second time this year that I get to learn the true nature of my fellow stackers. And for the second time this year learn who, if they ever need you to go to war for them, will be worth the time and risk.

I don't know who they are but I'd like to thanks them for the sats.
you're welcome.
Don't lose too much of your bag over a sh$tcoin. You can't keep this up forever
hmm it's not a shitcoin, and maybe i can.
yeah, wth is wrong with people.
... what I'm even more surprised about is people boosting back the downzapped posts.
Like... just make another one? or more on? or go outside and touch grass. Pretty ridiculous
but we are not as prolific as you 😛
i mean... if you might have posted the most viral bitcoin content of the year... it's probably a good idea to keep boosting that post...
Did you refer to your post as the most viral bitcoin content of the year?
i'm trying to create a self fulfilling prophecy.
There's been a war between the "nah" token big booster and a big downzapper
Another big day is building already
yeeeesss, ka-ching!
Yep it’s pretty nuts. Let the biggest sat bag win!
Beats me. I’m just gonna enjoy it while it lasts
Long live the haters with down-zapping.
I'm glad my daily summaries are sparkling the conversation about downzaps. Here's today's one #1566286
I mean those are stupid posts, and I guess the DZ took that personal.
