Then the playing surface will have to switch to ice and players will have to wear skates. We will call it sockey. The bloodshed is part of the fun.

I'd also vote for allowing sticks to beat each other. Maybe aesthetically pleasing, curved ones. Much like hurling, but Canadian of course.
