I am reeling in shock. I can’t quite believe that it has taken me 1.5 hours just to set one question for the Prelim Sci paper. Super unproductive. And it led to repercussions: had to run to a faraway bus stop with the son and was the last parent to pick up the daughter.

But maybe that is the quiddity of paper setting for Science.

If I think on the bright side, I have learnt that I can get ChatGPT to generate realistic models of human systems that are made of recycled materials. To derive greater utility from my “wasted” 1.5 hours, I promptly got the son to memorise nose, windpipe and lungs.

I like it.

What does "setting" a question mean?

Depending on the Bloom’s taxonomy

If it is simple recall, I could get students to name the labels. Nose, windpipe or lungs

If it entails creation, I could use a flawed model and get students to suggest changes they will make to the model to make it better

This isn’t relevant for the respiratory system but a common area of comparison involves students listing the similarities and differences between the human circulatory system and that of fish

But i am having such a hard time because of the darned formatting. It takes time to make sure that the lines and diagrams are all aligned
