Glad to see you got set up with an attached wallet for the AMA so you could get sats instead of cowboy credits.
having problems re-attaching my Alby wallet. Just keeps giving me an error, saying too many requests. So I'm stuck with cowboy credits. Anyone I should talk to to fix? Already asked Alby, and they said to talk to SN.
I won't get to this today, but I should be able to deploy a workaround for Alby's bug by the end of tomorrow.
If the situation is urgent, you should be able to workaround it yourself by using NWC to receive (by creating a separate NWC string with only receive permissions). If it can wait until tomorrow, I will be dedicating my day to fixing it.
Looks like it's working now hurray!
how do I convert the old Cowboy credits to sats? Or is that not possible?
The whole point of cowboy credits is that they can't be converted, because otherwise it'd be money transmission and would have to KYC everyone.
So instead, we do our best to make noncustodial stuff work, and when it fails we fallback to CCs.
Your CCs will get spent fast if you're commenting/posting/zapping a lot. When you spend, and there's no reason to use sats, we use CCs first automatically.
for some reason my zaps are still coming from my Alby account, not CCs.
you can trade with users like me
thanks!
This is an old tutorial but it might help.

@Undisciplined uses Alby maybe he can help.
I believe once you get your wallet attached you should be able to withdraw those credits as sats.
the wallet is attached, but when I go to configure and put in the lightning address, keeps giving me errors. I can send sats, just not receive. It's bizarre. Want to start posting more here once I get it fixed.

Can you share the copy and paste or screenshot the errors that you're getting?
Yeah, you'll need the pros on this one. It sounds familiar but I haven't had to deal with it myself.
I'm sorry about this.
The
too many requestserror is coming from Alby's end, but (to put it generously) it sounds like they think it's our fault.I will reach out to them and ask how they do rate-limiting and see if we are triggering it somehow.
thanks -- yeah they told me to take it up with you guys. Will try the NWC in the meantime.
Howdy @chrisliss and welcome to SN
