Politics & Law Weekly Zap Awards

There will be a zap award for the top 5 posts weekly. It will be broken down as follows:

  1. 1000 sats
  2. 250 sats
  3. 250 sats
  4. 250 sats
  5. 250 sats

I choose the top 5 posts each week based on sats, engagement, and overall quality. The cut off time is approximately 7:00am EST (1300GMT) Friday morning. I will post the top 5 winners shortly around 7:30am every Friday morning.

I reserve the right to not award any sats for the week. I also reserve the right to deny sat awards to bare link posts. I recognize that link posts can be valuable, so I will only exercise discretion for low quality links that garner few sats or engagement from stackers.

This week's top posts:

  1. 🥇 1000 sats - Loyalty/Rewards and Other Monetary Scams: The Points Guy (Net Interest) by @denlillaapan
  2. 🥈 250 sats - Why Do People Fear Progress? (Psychology of Progress, Adam Omary) by @denlillaapan
  3. 🥉 250 sats - The Aftermath: "It's like a war zone here" by @hasherstacker
  4. 250 sats - Here’s the Truth About Fertility (Critic Mag, Stephen Shaw) by @denlillaapan
  5. 250 sats - France Protests: Tourist Office Burnt Down In Lyon by @nkmg1c

@siggy47 thanks for keeping this running - Week #40 already! Politics_And_Law is hardest territory to curate, everyone emotional, but weekly zap award keeps quality up.
‎1000/250/250/250/250 breakdown is fair - Top 1 gets headline, but Top 2-5 still incentivized. Maybe consider pinning previous winners thread so new Stackers see what good politics post looks like? Example Week 39 winner was that Colonialism book review (33.2k sats) - set the bar.
‎Lately territory has been mixing history (Colonialism), culture (Hirsi Ali interview we just discussed), law (BTC self-custody cases), identity debates. Weekly award helps surface signal over noise.
‎Quick stats idea: could show total zaps per week in Politics vs Bitcoin to show growth? Might attract more serious writers.
‎Keeping an eye on this week's nominations - Hirsi Ali post and Colonialism review should be Top 2 contenders IMO.
