Hey all, not sure of the etiquette around this, but the monthly fee for this territory is coming up in a few days.

When I revived the territory some months ago, I figured I'd see how it went for three months. It went better than I expected in that a number of you now post here semi-regularly, which is awesome. At the same time, the fee share is nowhere near monthly territory fee. I didn't expect it to be, and I will continue paying it for the foreseeable future, but since the fee is not nothing (let's put it this way, it's one of my most expensive monthly subscriptions), I thought I'd see if anyone's interested in pitching in. I have about 10,000 sats raised from my main account activity, so that means around 40,000 to go to cover this month.

Like I said, I didn't expect to break even on this, much less profit, but it would be nice to move in the direction of self-sustainability as a territory, so I guess my goal with this post is to see how far off that is. Thanks for reading, and for any amount you feel inclined to cover!

Thanks so much Oscar!

Why do you need to hold on to it if it is so expensive? Fuck the landlords.

The "landlords" are the great folks listed in the footer who built this awesome site and work to maintain and improve it, none of which is cheap I'm sure. It's a fair price and I'm happy to pay it since I hope to see a thriving Japan community on here in the long run. But growing a community takes time, so I'm grateful to have some help along the way; it makes giving up less likely.
