It would be better if a normie had a simple way to get hold of some sats p2p. That could lower the barrier somewhat.

I think it is definitely freedom money in it's current form. The main reason for perceived slow adoption is that there's a lot to learn and the pain isn't strong enough yet to get them to learn it.

I'll concede that after these recent hacks we have to rethink how we present Bitcoin to newbies. It has always been verify, don't trust and DYOR but now that needs stronger emphasis.
