The state is terrible with money, large-scale projects, and general programs. Unless you fix that, then giving them more money just throws it straight into a fire.

I spoke about the People Mover in LA to my class yesterday. If you don't know what that boondoggle is, look it up. Everyone just guffawed at the idea. In LA the People Mover is supposed to be a short-range light rail system that moves people between the LAX airport and nearby transportation hubs/stops. It's been delayed multiple times and cost overruns of billions of dollars. It was supposed to be ready for the 2026 FIFA world cup, but it wasn't. Now they're projecting it to open in 2027, before the 2028 olympics, but few people believe that.
