Five children, ages four to 12, were found living without food or electricity inside a boarded-up home in Dayton, Ohio, after police responded to a welfare check, authorities said.

Dayton police said officers went to a home on the 3500 block of Delphos Avenue around 12:30 p.m. Oct. 1 and found the children alone inside what the department described as a “boarded-up, nuisance-abated property.”
