Why do you suppose that Libertarians (or conservatives in general) have largely seemed uninterested in the money without state control value proposition of Bitcoin?

A lot of libertarians are very interested in bitcoin. The party actually endorsed bitcoin, in 2020: https://wyzguyscybersecurity.com/libertarian-party-comes-out-in-support-of-bitcoin/ . Conservatives are a different matter. The conservative elite wants to control transactions, and to be able to force low interest rates (at least when conservatives are in power). So "real" conservatives hate bitcoin. Conservatives with libertarian leanings, who don't trust the state to run things, are becoming increasingly marginalized. I'm President of the Philadelphia Society, and this trend is very clear among elites.
