The LP has a long history of craziness, as I'm sure you know better than me. I was very involved in the LPNY back when Howard Stern hijacked the gubernatorial race, so the Trump circus was familiar. I put that all behind me 20 years ago, but sort of dropped out rather than become a Republican.

I was a delegate to the 2024 LP Nat Con. The speaker was (as you likely know) Donald Trump.  So I gave up and registered Republican. I'd rather be embarrassing to a party (Republicans hate me) than be embarrassed BY one (the LP has lost its mind).  But tbf it's hard to point to anything the LP actually accomplished. Still, not sure there is an alternative.  If there is some violent revolution, "our" people will not come out on top. Working within the system is the best of bad choices.
