Good lord, yes. Constantly. bitcoin is one of the most important innovations of the 21st century, and that's saying something. For one thing, you can split off blockchain applications as a distributed ledger. That's important in developing nations, for things like contracts and property deeds, insulating them from corruption. Same with bitcoin, because it takes the payment system outside the control of the state. So a lot of James Scott type people are big fans.

I’m glad that’s happening in your econ circle, because it’s crickets in mine.

I rarely hear people in the libertarian circles I frequent talk about bitcoin.

It's an interesting point. "Rarely hear" might be right. I would guess (and please correct me) that more than half of self-styled libertarians favor bitcoin strongly. But it's not controversial, we agree on that. So one does rarely hear about bitcoin. That's different from other issues, because libertarians disagree about those, and so we argue about them. As I said in another thread, the LP endorsed bitcoin in 2020. https://wyzguyscybersecurity.com/libertarian-party-comes-out-in-support-of-bitcoin/
