That was my first thought on this one - it's a psyop. Mainstream media accepts it at face value, of course. Grok says that the people saying it might be a false flag are low-follower conspiracy theorists.

Here's the official story:

On Sept 30, 2026, the Omani co-pilot of Flydubai FZ1073 (Dubai → Tel Aviv) stabbed the Indian captain and tried to crash the plane with ~174 passengers (mostly Israelis). The wounded captain opened the cockpit door; passengers and off-duty crew overpowered the attacker. The plane made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.

Baron Coleman (and many others, but I thought this was best) has reviewed this incident, and in this video gives an overview of all the many inconsistencies in the story.

Here's some of them:

• The rate of descent was insanely high, the plane would have disintegrated
• the timing is suspicious (Netanyahu warned of threats shortly before, something like this would benefit him in the election ).
• There were staged optics. Like - bloody socks - drenched in blood - kept on for 12 hours, for the Netanyahu photo op?
• The pilot was Omani. Israel only allows pilots to operate flights to Israel who have passports from countries with normalized relations with Israel - which Oman doesn't have.
