A thought exercise:

  • Measurement is Number of Attendees
  • Report to SN after each meetup
  • Monthly summary
  • Top 7 in attendance are the “leaders” for the following month

P.P-M.

I've been thinking of ways to gamify meetups. I'm always thinking through the lens of Nostr because everything is owned by the individual and doesn't require trusted 3rd parties.

There's a little bit of an Oracle problem if any game bridging from the physical space into the digital space takes off.

Participation and web of trust might mitigate the issues with false attendance if multiple trusted members of the meetup attest to the number of attendees.

One idea I had was to try to create a competition for meetup of the year, still haven't thought it through exactly. But something like consistency plus publicly viewable interaction around the meetup from the local community on Nostr.

While it's fun for me to think about these ideas, there is still a lot of work to be done to build a more robust meetup culture in USA (and world I guess) before we can create effective games at scale.

Do you have any ideas for gamifying your local meetup? That might be the place to start.

I definitely grateful that we have such a vibrant meetup culture around us.

Also thanks for participating in the permaculture territory.
