Phew!!! Bills escape an ugly one and get the Win. Here are my three takeaways from the game.

1. The Bills were trying their best to gift warp this game to Los Angeles. Josh had 2 really bad INTs and a fumble. First play on offense James Cook fumbles. Dalton Kincaid after a nice catch and run fumbles. The offense was just sloppy. All of these miscues at home to boot! But over the course of 60 minutes the Bills found a little success on offense. James Cook shook off the fumble and had a monster game on the ground with over 140 yards rushing and the Touchdown to seal it. DJ Moore is looking to be a good acquisition after three weeks as he had good catches to move the chains. I didn’t love Josh’s game today but he got it done when we needed it most especially an amazing 4th down pass to Ty Johnson to set the Bills up to score. Hopefully Josh can stop taking a beating out there. Got hit a lot today!
2. While the offense was bad the defense was good. 5 turnovers by the offense and the defense only giving up 16 points is really good. The defense left a lot of plays on the field. Harrison dropped an easy INT. Another INT was taken off the board due to a weak defensive holding call on Benford. Even with these bad plays they got a clutch INT by Gardner-Johnson in the 4th quarter and Greg GROOT got another two sacks. He has 6 sacks already in three games also making good tackles on running plays. Overall I was impressed by the defense. They are making big plays when it counts!!
3. The Chargers are struggling on offense. It appears everything was going their way with the turnovers and the refs and they still only got 16 points today.The defense got push against the Bills offense but when you have great players you can only keep them down for so long. Joe Brady who I was bearish on is having a great start to his head coaching career. The game management has been solid. The play calling is sound. I like that he sticks to the run to keep pressure off his QB and offensive line and the defense is doing just enough to keep the team in the game. 2-0 in the new stadium!

Bottom line the Bills got be better than this. They got away with an ugly one because Jim Harbaugh and Mike McDaniel can’t get the most of of Herbert. It is very rare a team has 5 turnovers, over 10 penalties, wins AND covers the spread. The money was heavy on the Bills today and bettors are awarded.

Next week we have the struggling Drake Maye and the New England Patriots. It is time for us to get revenge and let them remember who runs the NFL East.
