Not so simple question. I have some miners which I turn on / off depending on the electricity price at the moment. So they kinda mine with a profit. Then again, I will most likely never recover initial costs of buying, for example, Canaan Avalon Q. But they have also bonus of generating heat, which is useful in most of the year in Northern Europe.

Yes, but currently at a profit. $225 hosting fee & the SATS that hit my wallet compared to what I’ve paid so far exceeds that. Hopeful that it will continue that way.

Even using free solar generated electricity it is doubtful that my mining income will ever recover the capital cost of the miners.

Perhaps only if BTC price goes to a million?

Still, its fun to monetise the sunshine, and be part of the revolution.
