My behavior hasn't really changed, just zapped a bit more generously than usual.

I think if you look at the algo, you're still rewarded for zapping top posts late, just not as much as if you zapped it early
but with a rewards pot this big it makes zapping late still worthwhile
That's true. I just thought maybe your stack-to-spend ratio got a nice bump from being super early.
They only work with very large zaps. You can test on this comment if you like.
