I remember reading a few months ago about Venezuela having a pretty big bag of BTC. Is this where that supposed missing BTC came from?

I want to say that the U.S. had arrested the guy that had set up Venezuela's crypto entity or something along those lines

That’s still just a rumour; I don’t think that stash of BTC will ever turn up. If the Venezuelan government isn’t hiding it, then the US must have got hold of it by now.

If the U.S. has it I would expect that we would see the coins moved to be with the rest of the BTC the government has. Makes management easier

Let’s not be too cautious; they know there are observers from the network. It’s not impossible that they have them but aren’t moving them.

probably not. That story is about long-term mining and some oil deal from years and years ago (like 2018...?)

Ahhhhh okay! I wish I remembered the story entirely but I remember it being a hot topic item on the hill after Maduro's capture
