I'm happy to bet that we can. Do you genuinely believe the communist party will unite China and rule for 10,000 years? I admit there's a lot about China that I don't understand, but I feel perfectly safe betting my life and the life of everyone around me on NO. The payoff is too great and the odds are too favorable to pass up.
10,000 years is a long time.
Would not like to bet humanity has that long left given the point we have reached where technology seems to be accelerating toward the speed of light!
For insight into China read some of Peter Hesslers excellent books on China- they provide a window into this alien culture through a westerners eyes.
It could be argued that Chinas inherently conservative Confucian cultural traditions, preferring stability to change, could be just what the world needs in contrast to the buccaneering tendencies of western civilisation.
Nah the world needs a change from communism. It's gone on long enough.
