I been craving to play NBA Hangtime for a long time. After telling my friend he suggested I try running an emulator on my laptop. Once that failed he convinced me to get an M64! Which I am glad did!
After getting NBA Hangtime
The true sequel to NBA Jam.
And a few other of my favorite classics I realized I needed a memory card to create a player and save the data. Currently the M64 doesn’t let you save to the console yet. That feature is coming in a future software update. The M64 controller doesn’t come with a memory card slot so I had to purchase a new controller with a new memory card.
And so the quest begins!
I created my character Boog and put on my New York Knicks jersey and started my quest to beat all NBA teams
Game #1 The Vancouver Grizzlies
I didn’t take any photos or anything about this match as the idea to write about this came after the fact. I picked The Minnesota Timberwolves and selected Kevin Garnett for the first half and Tom Gugliotta in the second half! I forgot who the Grizzlies had in the first half but in the second they had Mayberry and Aboul-Rahim. I beat them fairly easy and put up 48 points.
The trivia question I got wrong. I was asked what country was Bill W. was from I selected Romania! 😆

Game # 2 The Philadelphia 76ers
I selected the T’Wolves again and started off with Garnett.
For some strange reason Kevin won’t use turbo!!! I switched to Tom again in the 2nd half who plays a little better defense but limited offense but we got the win!
The trivia question I got correct! They asked who was the 2nd overall pick in the 1995 NBA draft I guessed Antonio McDyess and I got it right!! Now I got two trivia points.
Record: 2-0, Trivia: 2 points
Once I reach 100 trivia points I get to add extra attribute points to my character.
That’s it for tonight! I will update this thread as I play all 29 teams and make my player better!

Game #4: The Dallas Mavericks
Tonight I was in action again two of my favorite NBA players. Jason Kidd and Jamal MASHBURN!!
I went to go select my team and I saw Juwan Howard and the Washington Bullets (😂) staring at me
Jamal and Kidd were pesky! Kidd got on fire! Howard and I could not block their ALLEY Oops and double dunks. Howard chipped in a few baskets but the contest was close.
At halftime we lead by 5 because I went 75% from three! But I bricked a lot of layups for some reason.
As we started the the next half The Mavericks stuck with Kidd and Mash. I went with Webber. I wanted more defense
It proved to be the right move! Webber was must stronger on defense. Had a few key stops and added a bit more on offense. Kidd and Mash kept it close until I got more steals and shot and sank more threes! We shut their offense down and I hit back to back threes to go up 11!
Thus we got the win!!
Trivia time!
Had no clue so I guessed Jason Caffey and got it right! Trivia is up to 6 points!
Next up is Ray Allen and the Milwaukee Bucks!

Game #3: The Toronto Raptors
When playing to become an NBA champion by defeating all 29 teams the game matches you up with the worst teams first. Sorry @grayruby and @gnilma that I had to beat your team today.
I wanted to have an awesome partner today so I selected Scottie Pippen
The Raptors started with Stoudamire and Wright. (The game doesn’t show who you face until the game starts)
Pippen was playing really good defense and chopped in when he could. Wright was trigger happy shooting 6 threes. Pippen and I took an early lead but the CPU keeps the competitive balance by letting the other team catch up by hitting threes and getting steal luck buff.
At half I led by 5
Time for subs. I wanted more defense and didn’t want to worry if pippen was getting his touches so I went with Rodman
The Raptors sent wright to the bench and came with one of my favorite players Marcus Camby
Rodman played great defense and even hit a big shot down the stretch. Camby didn’t add much as besides a few dunks. These Raptors were annoying and tied it up late but Rodman and I prevailed!! Kept the 5 point lead!
And I got the win!
Trivia:
I had no clue I guess David Robinson and I got it wrong I probably should’ve guessed Ewing! Gotta work on my NBA history!
Next game I face Jason Kidd, Jamal Mashburn and the Dallas Mavericks.

That wasn’t the golden era for the Raptors. guessing they are one of the easier teams to beat.
They were gritty couldn’t build a big lead outside of the 1st Quarter
Those teams were fun but not great.
The fuck is wrong with the developers? No turbo for Garnett and Googs plays better defense?
I hope you find Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64. Those are two of the great games of all time.
Yeah it’s maddening at times! The CPU will stop using turbo haha. Googs hit a huge three for me against the sixers!
