For me the answer isn't more marketing or more noise, it's more well-run territories pulling in their own people by topic, a photographer shows up for Photography, not because of a viral bitcoin post on the home page. That spreads the growth across small communities inside a bigger one, instead of dumping everyone into the same spot at once, which is exactly what wrecks forums when they get flooded overnight.
And on whether a thousand newcomers would ruin this, filter already does most of the work for us, it costs sats to post, costs sats to zap, and the downzap punishes the noise when someone tries to sneak it in with a boost. It's not perfect, shitcoin still slips to the top now and then, but it doesn't stay there long. As long as that filter holds up, count me in, the more the merrier, as long as they come in through the right door ðŸ¤
