From where I am standing as a neutral and friendly observer, it certainly appears that USA is struggling with accepting its decline.
The West's "decline" is a choice and a policy decision. If you remove the communists that are causing the decline, then there's no more decline.
You think the USA's political parties have some kind of shared pro-American outlook. No. We have the Republican Party representing the continuation of 1776 and Lincoln's Union, and the Democrats are a bunch of foreigners and traitors and subversives trying to gaslight us into surrendering Taiwan. Obama and Biden were Marxists that would have let you win if you had invaded.
The decline in economic and political freedom only happened because we tolerated people that we should have turned away at the border. The communists own the mainland because they're willing to get their hands bloody to stay in power. That's the mindset we need to learn from and adopt because there's no other way to deal with them. You think we've already been an imperialist country, and it makes you completely unprepared to deal with a US that does act through imperialist force. You're banking on some vague hope that the US will collapse so you can take Taiwan peacefully. It's not and you can't. You're getting a hot war with the US and Japan within 2 years. If half of America dies then so be it. Communists can't be allowed to acquire any more clay.

Start from the endgame and work backwards. The goal of capitalism with American characteristics is to transform the US into a rich country. That means protecting our discount on semiconductors. That means we need total control over the flow of all sea trade and we need to build up an empire capable of enforcing that control.
So, taking Venezuela's oil, destroying Iran's military capabilities, annexing Canada, fomenting right-wing revolutions in Europe, allying with Latin American capitalist regimes, all of this is exactly what is necessary for defending the semiconductors and making America great again.

Such absurd parodies such as 'Make America great Again' have been very readily accepted by the seething masses seeking a way out of this mess you got yourselves into.
It will take time to accept you lost the trade war and the petrodollar exceptional privilege upon which you have become dependent, but it will happen as the process is now irreversible.
You can choose how much pain and suffering you inflict upon yourselves- I certainly hope its not too messy for you.
