the last decade or two of movies has really desensitized us to that though. Good CGI in a movie used to be remarkable -- even the whole point of seeing the movie in some cases. Now, the quality of the special effects is not talked about.
I wonder if this is related: i enjoy Planet Earth type shows. I would not enjoy them if they were just very high quality slop depicting things that did not actually exist.
Yeah true but also - at least for me - when i see old-school movies and they did really cool special effects by hand that still look amazing after 40 or 50 years it's sooooooo cooool
