That is already a problem, I think. It's already evident in digital content, in research papers, in software. High quality non-AI things, other than opinions because those sell, can be hard to find in these areas. E.g.: I haven't seen much great hand-crafted work in software libraries lately; it's all pretty much Claude now.

Also reminds me of Ford re-hiring their hero engineers though, so maybe it will correct again at some point.

But... I personally also am somewhat part of the problem. For example, I used to hand-code my tools and often publish them, so that other people could use them and didn't have to go through all that effort to get some automation in their workflows. But now my tools are sloppy - I don't write them anymore - and no way will I publish these because they aren't my work product. So where before I contributed tangible things that at least helped an oddball here or there, now I contribute literally nothing in that area. Upside for humanity is that everyone can just solve their own software problems now with bots. I wrote a little rant about that last year in response to everyone publishing slop. I have definitely lost that battle though, haha. Convenience always wins.
