True, but I'd also like to point out that Hal Finney believed that in the future people would mostly be using layer 2s through bitcoin banks. I think self-custody is going to have to exist along with custodial solutions: #1030571

You understand that this is exactly what I pointed to above, right? If it's only about what people say, and not about the actual code (which is even harder for Spark because half the stuff is proprietary) then maybe there are more lessons to be learned from the Coldcard fuckup than just "be humble".

My fear is that we lose the plot if these distinctions become meaningless. Calling something non-custodial when it isn't is an Orwellian move and, imo, an attempt at the erosion of this distinction.
