So, what does life amount to when you don’t run around 9-to-5 working a (mostly) bullshit job you don’t care about?

What if the mostly bullshit jobs are the leisure? Or, rather, they're a labor-leisure bundle (a kludge) that provide social organization and connection, maybe some sense of purpose, daily structure that's set in a marginally productive environment.

That's possible, I guess. But nobody knows about that... Wouldn't it be weird if all of us just stumbled into that equilibrium, not knowing/realising it?

I don't think it's that weird. It would actually be odd if people didn't choose forms of leisure that also compensate them best.
