Either this whole post is AI slop, or OP is deeply confused about LN...

The total volume of payments settled on the Lightning Network (LND) hit a specific, almost mocking milestone:

How do you know this? It's not public how much is routed on LN. Are you just guessing or assuming this milestone was actually achieved?

Take the recent -30% drawdown in crypto markets. You’d think a bear market would freeze Lightning, forcing it to rely on the base layer (Bitcoin) for its reliability.

In a bear market, lightning is less reliable? IDK, this train of thought does not track...

Instead, [lighting] thrived [in a bear market]. Why? Because the "Ghost in the Machine"—the belief that Lightning is the only way to move value—has kept capital locked in channels.

I don't think people believe that LN is the only way to move funds. Rather, most payments are still denominated in fiat and when BTC is down ~30% in fiat terms, it's like everyone's channels just got 30% smaller. People still have to buy things so the LN still has to work with less value locked, so the turnover of channels accelerates and nodes add more capacity which "looks" like a thriving network from the outside.

60% of Lightning merchants have abandoned dynamic fee adjustments.

Source? This phrasing doesn't make sense to me... aren't merchants primarily RECEIVING payments? What fees are merchants even able to charge here?

The average payment is hovering around 3,000 sats, but the median channel size has ballooned to 50,000 sats to maintain liquidity. This is inefficient capital storage, essentially a "Liquidity Trap" in real-time.

Yes "average" is pretty inefficient. Luckily, we have "professionals" with much better efficiency that actually do the volume required to keep LN running.

Despite the "instant" branding, the average finality for a complex routing path is creeping up to 14 seconds.

The "average" for a "complex path"... can we just stick to averages and not the worst of the averages?

I’ve been watching the on-chain data for months, specifically looking at the "Win Rate" of successful direct hops versus multi-hop journeys. The result is stark: only 16% of large payments (over 10k sats) clear in a single hop without touching a "middleman" node.

LN is not onchain. You cannot see hops publicly. These stats are whack and probably an AI hallucination.
