We can't compromise with the opposition party at this time, for their own sake as well as ours. The DSA is leading the charge, but the whole party is generally in favor of cutting off support for our capitalist proxy states, which is effectively the same as destroying the republic.

The reason Lincoln had to burn down the South wasn't just because of slavery. His first plan was to prevent new states from joining as slave states. This would have meant free states eventually overpowering the South politically and economically to the point where slavery would have been peacefully phased out. Of course, Democrats could do the same math and decided secession/war was worth the risk in order to maintain an independent slave empire.

The immediate cessation of slavery was a Republican policy victory that was won as spoils of war, but the main reason Lincoln fought to preserve the Union was to maintain the existence of at least one government on earth that would be of, by, and for the people. In other words, the Three Principles of the People.

Trump's plan is to replace the income tax with tariffs and tolls on international trade, leveraging our military, geography, and culture to maintain a political union while implementing laissez-faire economics domestically. This combined with a potential victory over the PRC is an existential threat to everything the Democrats stand for as a party. We know they're not going to comply, so we have no choice but to treat them as an insurrectionary force.

There is indeed an emergency. And by the way it's certainly a more real and urgent emergency than the corona hysteria. That was worse than the Stamp Act and still deserves serious, massive, spectacular retribution.
