altruistic mining with a bitaxe will always go on, and more power to them. but no one is going to switch a multi-million dollar operation to a pool for altruistic purposes. I think mining is pretty decentralized today. I know miners across the globe. What IS centralized however, are the pools. That's where we come in ;)
