Coinkite killed self custody with this. So many people are running to Blackrock and getting into the ETF in-kind with no cap gains.

It truly is sad to see.

As someone who lost a lot of BTC to scams and just reckless behavior no reason to run away from self custody.

It still Money you own, can spend, with no third parties.

self custody was not the issue, the issue was the use of backdoored closed source "hardware wallets" which were not even audited. The coinkite scam does not impact those who use proper hardware wallets.
