I spent 10 minutes trying to find it publicly too. I landed on FracTracker at some point which is pretty cool and, as you concluded with data center studies, seems politically motivated if not biased.

Brookings did a similar comparison but with control groups instead of against US totals. They say largely the same re: jobs growth, but with the note that hyperscalers have larger economic impact than colos:

All in all, if I read between the lines of analyses by journos that probably do have access to all the gated stuff, then I'd guess that all this data is built specifically to argue a political/business goal and the truth is probably somewhere in the middle - it's all tradeoffs.
