an ocean miner adds to the non bip110 chain...

Doesn’t Luke own Ocean?

reply

Doesn't matter. Miners can use custom templates there.

reply

Default stratum is back to non-110 too now - haven't seen it flipflop since 20 min or so

reply

Why is that happening?

reply

Spotted the switch back to BIP-110 around 6:18pm eastern time

Am I truly the only one seeing this?

reply

No idea! I'm hoping that b10c has retained logs of that and maybe we can see what's what

reply

I think it does. Doesn’t matter about the template you still pay a pool fee. They don’t provide the service for free. Braiins pool fee is 2%

reply

I must have misunderstood your point. I thought you were confused by the how.

reply

Long time ago ocean raised a funds via the private markets. The parent company of Ocean is called something that starts with M. Started by Luke. So Luke has taken VC money to either start or sustain ocean.

So I was thinking of the incentives for ocean and Luke’s company to profit off this bip-100 endeavor

reply

yes, i think that is maybe a point for the Ocean folks: hashers more like miners.

reply

Why would ocean mine an invalid block?!! XD

reply

You cannot make this up.

reply

its nice to know so early into this they aren't just lying about mining choice

reply

It was @siggy47 with his Avalon using a different pattern.

Sigh. Making fun of this level of retardation isn't even sporting. It's like picking on a disabled kid.
