I suppose then that it isn't quite accurate to say "For bitcoin to win, you want the attackers to succeed."  But more accurate to say, "For bitcoin to win, you don't want the attackers to be stopped through the internal mechanisms of bitcoin itself."

Nah disagree with that. I want them to be caught, like any other thief unjustly taking others stuff. I just don't want the monetary system/regulatory state catch them at the gatekept use of their spoils.

Just like I don't want mafio dons flourishing, I don't want Pablo Escobar to be caught because the gas station refuse to take cash and he doxxed himself with a credit card
