Maybe you were paranoid, or maybe you were just lucky. Maybe you were lazy and never got around to that coldcard thing (left your utxos on a ledger). Or maybe you were a paranoid mfer and thought that having one device or source of entropy was a bad idea no matter the device...

In any case don't forget to give thanks. Surviving this event is like surviving a plane crash. Maybe you were lucky, maybe you just bought a seat in the back... In any case be thankful you are still here and still have your coins.

There are a lot of people whose entire family savings, to include life savings or economic foundation who have been crushed by this event. Some had many, many bitcoins and now they have zero. The likelihood of recovery or retrieval of their coins is extremely low. The consequences of which will reverberate throughout their generation and likely the generations to come.

Noone is 'out of woods' and the attacks aren't over, certainly for the coldcard and not for the other "hardware wallets" either. There will be other attacks, AI is an unrelenting and vicious taskmaster.

But if you are here today and have your coins, can move them of your own volition, and know where they are (in addresses you control) then you are a C-Day survivor.

From the D Day invasion and the liberation of France, to the July 4th declaration of independence and a Young America...

The most important lessons are written in blood.

Give thanks for every day you still have your coins, that you are 'still here' and never take anything for granted there are many people who wish they could say the same.

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever.
Amen.

Definitely both lucky and lazy. Will be more paranoid going forward.

Every day we have coins dude...

Chris Taylor: It's the way the whole thing works. People like Elias get wasted. People like Barnes just go on making up the rules any way they want. So what do we do? Sit in the middle and suck on it. We just don't add up to dry shit, King.
King: Whoever said we did, man? All you got to do is make it out of here, and it's all gravy. Every day, the rest of your life, gravy.

Interesting post.
It's true, we are survivors and more attacks like these will come!
Let's give thanks and study Bitcoin!

We are always at the mercy of this ambitious software project. A zero day exploit can be found and wipe all of us out.

Why I feel for those who make their whole life bitcoin.

as i don't bother with social media (other than reading some of the nitter links pasted in threads here on SN) i'm wondering if other HW makers, and even software wallets like electrum, sparrow etc have made any posts about their projects to reassure their users in the wake of this.

i imagine anyone building anything must have been up all night checking their stuff lol
