Certainly, Detroit it is not what it once was, but I'm a little surprised by the description. The city is usally criticised because kt has only ever spend money rejuvenating the downtown core and if you go, it is uncanny how polished some of it is, especially when you compare it to the reputation it has. Yuppie central.
Yes, there are parts of the downtown that are completely run down, dejected, but I'm surprised he would have gone there.
