By "civilian anti-air defense", I really do mean civilian: the volunteers are only volunteering to do anti-air defense, and are not considered soldiers. They're entirely unpaid, and other than the guns and ammo, the Ukrainian government doesn't provide any funding. Everything else they have they have to pay for themselves or fundraise.

I got in touch with them because I used the $LADA memecoin and Bitcoin donations to buy the unit a ~$6k training simulator that attaches to their guns. Ammo is expensive, so a simulator will allow them to get a lot more training. I'll publish more video on that later once I edit it up. But a sneak peak:

I managed to down one simulated shahed! Eventually... 😂

To be clear, those are Russians.

reply

to be clear, you have no idea.
your mindset:
russia = bad people always losing.
ukraine = good people always winning.
everything else is propaganda and you will never see it on youtube.
if i upload videos of drugged ukraine soldiers killing civilians it will be deleted.
if i upload videos of russian soldiers smoking ukraine soldiers, also not good.
only videos allowed are ukraine winning. so you only see ukraine winning, but in the end they loose more territory and more people.

has the regime collected the dead soldiers from konstantinovka where you have been last time?

or are they still refusing to?

i know it is hard for the regime to pay for funeral and compensation to the family, maybe you collect some money for the people left behind instead of collectin money for war.

Kostyantynivka is an insanely dangerous place. It's hard enough for Ukrainians to evacuate the wounded. Let alone bodies.

I personally know someone who got leg injury in that area because the guy next to him stepped on a mine; he was in a group of stretcher bearers evacuating a wounded soldier. The wounded man died, and they left his body there because they were focused on evacuating the living.

Aa for that soldier: once his leg heals up, he wants to go back and continue fighting. Because if he doesn't, evil will prevail.

He could chose to just leave the military. He has chosen to keep fighting.

reply

I don't know why you dignify the Putin suckers with a response Peter.

This guy is talking to you, someone on the ground, from his armchair somewhere safe, giving you a lecture and throwing out some weak-ass gatcha about bad Ukraine not collecting bodies.

another pathetic loser, simping for a 75-year-old dictator because his amazing alternative news source told him so

reply

It was a nice excuse to tell a story about badass soldier. :)

I actually filmed an interview with him that I'll publish once he is out of hospital; I don't want the dox his location.

reply

What exactly are Russians winning? 5 years in, more dead Russians than in any other conflict outside of ww2 and a fucked economy, shit internet, and what amazing progress do they have to show for it, Malaya Tokmachka?

It's pathetic, and the only thing more pathetic is people like you sitting there like you have some amazing insight that everyone else is blind to.

You want to talk about propaganda, how about Russia (yes, I'm doing whataboutism, which ironically, is Russia's favourite propaganda technique), where every single piece of media has been under state control for over a decade? shit, you might not like Western media, but anyone is free to go and look at whatever media source they want

Replace with BTC LN address and you will get more tips

reply

It does frustrate me that there isn't a good option right now for audible, publicly verifiable, lightning payments. It's a good thing that the â‚¿ address has a complete record of every payment made. Something similar can be done for lightning. But it'll be a lot of work to actually implement.

reply

Ah phoenix is bolt12 address doesn't work for bolt11

love everything you're doing for Ukraine and people's freedoms! Most bitcoiners are larping, some even support freedom-repressing states like Russia, embarassing. MAGA bitcoiners are the lowest of the lowest type of bitcoiners.

reply

Thank you!

Ironically, for all the shit that MAGA types say about Ukraine, when you actually go out east and talk to Americans who volunteered to fight for Ukraine, a high % of them are MAGA Republicans. They're not stupid: they think that's a serious flaw in Trump. But that side of politics is otherwise is widely supported among foreign volunteers.

The MAGAs back home in America could learn something from that...

🇺🇸🇺🇦🇮🇱 We wrote about this last year (https://substack.com/@ddgeopolitics/note/p-171309494?utm_source=notes-share-action&r=2k2821) and nobody wanted to hear it. US AI firms — Palantir, Maven, Google — are using Ukraine, Gaza and Iran as live testing grounds for battlefield AI. Two fronts. Same technology. Same corporations. Same result: dead civilians. In Ukraine, Palantir's PRISMA software is coordinating hundreds of drones simultaneously into Russian territory. In Gaza, AI targeting systems are selecting strikes in one of the most densely populated places on earth. This is not two separate wars. This is one weapons laboratory with two test sites.

reply

Damn. That job looks scary, because the operator is right behind the gun, and the gun is what the enemy would love to blow up! Do they have a CROWS system addon for that?

reply

Nope. CROWS costs $190,000. That's probably more money than they've spent in total.

They do wear body armor during active air raids. Ukrainian AA units have been hit before. In particular, one thing Russia sometimes does is attacks with two shededs, one just behind the other. So the AA unit reveals where they are shooting down the first shahed. Then the second attacks the unit.

reply

Quite amazing that he is doing this despite being a foreigner

Ukrainian soldier PROTESTS in Kiev, calls service in Ukraine Army 'SLAVERY', DEMANDS clear terms of service

He condemns Zelensky's 'insane mobilization' policies and claims that many troops who fights since 2022 are exhausted and injured, with no clear demobilization dates

I always pray for your victory.

Zelensky's regime let the American Gonzalo Lira die in prison for the "crime" of having criticized Zelensky on YouTube. Killed by Ukraine and abandoned by the West because he had the courage of his convictions. Zelensky had Gonzalo Lira die in prison just for criticizing him on YouTube, because, being American, he didn't believe that in Ukraine there was no freedom of speech. Arrested by soldiers armed with submachine guns as if he were a terrorist.

I appreciate seeing updates like this. It's easy to talk about helping, but showing exactly what the donations funded gives people a much clearer picture of the impact.
