I find it concurrently hilarious and endlessly sad that apparently even that partial redaction wasn't censorship enough and the whole thing had to go.
Right after the Salt Typhoon stuff went down, there was this waterfall of narrative change where security leadership (finally) started recognizing that if you want a strong basis to operate from, you need civilians to be digitally secure - so no backdoors. 2023-2024 was great for pro-encryption, pro self-sovereign safety narratives coming from NSA, FBI, NATO (notably not Europol - #1484685 - lol)... but that has stopped mostly now.
With yesterday's little trick in the EP to bring back Chat Control... which didn't fail (!) we probably should prepare for nastier times ahead. Luckily, we have other stackers to help us learn. @nout did a nice book recommendation earlier. I'm reading in between manual tests runs right now.

Do you have a guide for building a citadel? Or did you read something about it, or prepare yourself in any other way?
The Earthship people used to offer some free designs, I think and there was a book at one point. They do an in-person class to learn how to build that looks pretty incredible.
I just do it. Learning by my own fails, find solutions and improve.
How often did you fail, why and which solutions were improvements then?

ohhh many times I failed. Did you read the story on the substack https://darthcoincitadel.substack.com ? Are 4 episodes until now. Soon the 5th.
Most of the fails are due to the location, far isolated place and bringing stuff up there is a pain in the back. No road access nearby, 8km the closest village with a road. All the rest is a forest trail, sometimes with steep elevation level. All the materials were carried in my backpack, by myself. No help whatsoever.
So I have to choose wisely what I am going to use and mostly to find solution with materials in place: wood, rocks, mud,, dirt etc. Basic tools also.
This year was a real challenge to make the carpentry for the windows and the door.
Another challenge will be next: how to bring electricity there. I found a solution in 2 steps:

In the 5th part of the story I will describe more details of these challenges and failures. Butt is good to fail. You learn a lot, by fixing and struggle to find ad-hoc solutions.
