I'm new here so i just want to introduce myself
I'm a ₿/LTN node runner, home miner so I'm sharing my opinion on the circular economy and why it's important for the bitcoin community , first of all i call it ₿itconomy I just like the sound of it ...
The circular economy works only if we can spends ₿ amongst ourselves as a community and show the rest of the world it works and it has real benefits
Every time a Bitcoiner buys something from another Bitcoiner in sats, we shrink the fiat system by one transaction, every time we route around banks, payment processors, and middlemen we're not just saving fees, we're demonstrating that an alternative exists. Using services that convert your fiat into ₿ is convenient but nothing is better than sats only transactions , buy ₿ at an exchange spend it with your favorite wallet that's it ..
The problem: we can't build a circular economy if there's nowhere to spend our sats
or if it isn't accessible to the masses , we have many businesses accepting ₿ as a form of payment owned by bitcoiners like us , thanks to the square terminal the option is there however most businesses don't even know about it , it's up to us not only to use these terminals but also to start a conversation
We need markets, real ones Where Bitcoiners sell to Bitcoiners p2p where Lightning invoices replace credit card terminals and the price is quoted in sats, not converted from dollars.
Club Orange is doing a great job connecting businesses and bitcoiners , there are plenty of ₿ friendly businesses all we need to do is support them
and show the world it works before asking them to join, it's definitely a process that is going to take a long time, it might take a whole generation but we will get there
I am doing my small part , we can grow one transaction at the time
Welcome!
Most of us are quite interested in these same things. What are your favorite places to spend sats and what's your favorite approach to talking to merchants?
Yes from what i can tell i think found the right group of people here ...
i'm building a marketplace no fiat LTN only, p2p everything is priced in sats so im looking for businesses that take ₿ as payment and are true bitcoiners , for the circular bitcoin economy it's imperative to support promote and give ₿ friendly businesses a platform, most are very small businesses the more exposure the better
personally I've used sats and onchain ₿ for all sort of things i regularly buy some meds online using ₿ , I bought all my miners with ₿ , starbucks occasionally with my fold card not the same i know , I wish I had more to spend but i'm not wealthy so gotta be frugal . I don't really have a favorite place, food trucks in NYC are probably where I use my sats more often lol
and i find most of them are already familiar with LTN transactions , one guy even told me he uses ₿ to send money to family in Ecuador i think
one fun "game" is going to shops with the square terminal ask to pay in ₿ half the time you get a wtf look, a lot of them don't even know they have the option but that's how you start talking about it , they're usually curious you show the process and the reaction is actually very positive
You’ll have to share which food trucks are taking bitcoin with @siggy47. He’s always looking for new places.
Check out the ~AGORA for bitcoin marketplace ideas.
oh i food truck hop lol don't ask me to remember one there are so many

I did find it.... i think I should create a card for AGORA on satlist if you're ok with that we can talk about it
I'm definitely interested. I'll go out of my way to pay with sats. Have you bought a meal for sats at @pubkey in the village? Also, Harlem Bitcoin meets at a restaurant up in Morningside Heights called Safari that accepts bitcoin:
