I've been asking this question for years over at NOICE Magazine during the submission process.

After 83 of the latest submissions, i've compiled an answer to the question.

In one sentence: A good photograph makes you feel something you can’t quite explain by showing you something real that you might have missed.

Highly recommend that you read the entire blog post on the website if you have the time. Very insightful, and I also share a bit of my own personal thoughts on it.

So, the question goes back to you: what makes a good photograph?

ps: the blog post you can tip in sats directly. Give it a test :)

I think that the moment is what defines a good photograph.

A great photograph is not just about technical perfection, it’s about capturing a moment, emotion, or story that stays with you.

I agree. It's good to know the fundamentals without getting attached to them. They are important and beautiful photographs, even those captured by people without technical knowledge, they always have the technical fundamentals in them.
