This one caught me by surprise, VIDA just IPO'd.

They were heavily in Lightning working on sats-based VOIP in 2021 or so... looks like at some point they pivoted to AI agents for SMB's and just went public.

Looks like Kraken has tokenized the stock as well.

Not an endorsement, just found it interesting to see a smaller Lightning startup going down this path.

Yup I already own shares via lightning ventures via a SAFE.

Curious to see what is going to happen with that investment.

During my daily discussion I was posting pictures of their chart as they already had crazy trading volume

Maybe that heavy volume is for tokenizing?

Wondering if I should add more shares or maybe add this to the SN portfolio as I have to dump BTM because they went bankrupt.

Probably the initial subscription which Kraken would be part of

This should be a liquidity event for the SPV, I think you should be able to cash well.

Yeah still waiting for an update from the fund manager

Here's the original IPO announcement: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/vida-announces-pricing-of-initial-public-offering-302772954.html

the pricing of its initial public offering of 3,750,000 shares of its Class A common stock, par value $0.001 per share (the "Common Stock"), at a price to the public of $4.00 per share of Common Stock.

I didn't know you could IPO at these valuations. Perhaps it is just impractical most of the time.

That confused me as well, I took it for a +/- 16M valuation given the shares and price, saw elsewhere they RAISED 16M, and a total float gave it a cap of 60M

I assume that 16M / $4 offering was to meet the public float, that's pretty much exactly the minimum... Calicott pointed out the listing is on NYSE American, which has lower requirements than regular NYSE

Interestingly NASDAQ is also 15M

Kraken is probably a factor for doing it, xStocks would require a public stock to back the token

reply

No kidding! I hadn't heard from them in a while and had mostly forgot about Vida. Interesting decision.
