By personal uses, I mean internal uses that are NOT end products. i.e. having LLMs write a five paragraph email for you after you type a two sentence prompt.
My recent favorite personal use was finding references for my Everyone Is Lying to You for Money review. Normally, I'd skip linking out a bunch, hoping the reader would accept or share my cultural references. It occurred to me that I could use LLMs to find those cultural references for me, saving me hours of searching (or defaulting to wikipedia).
My prompt was something like:
i need a links for (as references in a short article i'm writing):
- michael moore (instance where he's cynical in a manipulative way)
- warner herzog (essay where he discusses lying to tell a truth)
- Morena Baccarin with Ben Mckenzie (comical, scandelous, or romantic)
- link to sappy heartthrob scene of Ben in OCChatGPT returned at least two options for each reference. Where it didn't exactly find what I wanted, I prompted a bit further and found what I intended to find. It was super satisfying. It was like receiving one of the benefits of journaling and storing these references (that I only had a faint memory of) for free.

Run everything you post (irl, nym isn't too important) through a profiling prompt to understand what enriched data other not-so-kind people are likely putting in their databases about you. Ideally before posting, so that you can influence it.
Could you give an example of a profiling prompt? I guess I can guess at it, but I'd be grateful to have sense of what you consider a good profiling prompt.

I'm not sure that I grasp what you mean exactly.
There's no rewriting going on in that prompt, only analysis. What is done with the analysis is up to the author, and you can ignore it, just like you can ignore the output from a human reviewer. Sometimes you may want the "wrong" message to go out and at other times, maybe not. Awareness is the key thing here, not the rewrite; I rarely rewrite.
If you mean that this implies that sometimes a pure emotion gets cloaked after it got flagged up and some edits were done (by the author), then yes, I think that that's true, though I don't think that that's per definition a bad thing. Being an open book is dangerous in a world where every byte is retained forever and can and will be used against you by the next guys the masses vote into power over the surveillance apparatus - I think that it would be naive to think that you have a qualifying trait that protects you from all your potential future overlords.
Storing the report itself doesn't make it a final product either. It's data, not information. Information would be the report you run over all the feedback you've received the past month, check for trends, and think about what you're feeling and why. Run a little self-assessment. Even then, isn't the final product whatever you decide do with the signal rather than the LLM output itself?

I agree, but I think too if you polite or change your ongoing approach based on a LLM judgement, programmed based on your your will, you’ll need to ever check if it’s make it job properly to don’t up false flags on your emotions.

Every now and then I like to ask Gemini to write an original SCP entry for me to read, and it always surprises me with its originality.
Weirdly, counseling. And it scares me.
The thing is, sometimes I just need someone to bounce a few thoughts off of, but I don't necessarily want to bother anyone or come off as complaining. So I reach for the AI. And it tends to be pretty helpful as a thought partner to just think through stuff.
I do worry about the error rate. What if it's telling me stuff that makes me feel better but is just wrong? But I don't have strong evidence that AI is more likely to lead me astray than another human being.
As long as you don't have it keep all the cross-session context (no memory) and be mindful of individual session length, error compounding shouldn't be too much of an issue, unless it's trained in
goblin-bias. I remember you saying in the past that you do both, so I think that this particular risk should be relatively low (when compared to both past performance and someone just yoloing all the settings to max retention.)When in doubt, ask Arena.
I definitely keep memory off and start new chats for every new conversation/topic. Hopefully that's enough to keep things mostly on track and rational
It helps a lot. One other thing that may help is to throw away conversations that got an answer that missed the spot and clarify the question in a new session, instead of arguing. Arguing definitely poisons context, and the initial tokens in the response missing the spot too. Cleaner that way.
Yes.... I do argue sometimes but it definitely poisons the well, in terms of triggering sycophancy.
Lately, I've found Opus to be more sycophantic, and ChatGPT to be almost too obstinate (or too unwilling to explore heterodox opinions)
Opus has been tuned for instruction following so I'd use that model to make it do things; it's been trained on Claude Code conversations. GPT is trained to solve "complex problems".
Give the models what they are trained for: Ask open research questions to GPT, maybe add some roleplay. For Claude straight out just order it to research something.
If you need validation, ask the question you think you have the answer to without revealing the answer.

For chat? I think I only use chat once a month. Grok works fine too. If I really have a one-off that doesn't fit in the framework, I just use Arena and yolo me an answer.
For dev-adjacent work I use mainly Claude, and GPT and GLM as secondaries. I used to use Kimi before GLM-5 was released.
For operational/integrated LLM flows for work (these must be local - no spyware!!!) I use mostly Gemma and Jan for structured output work and Qwen for embeddings.
I know you said you wanted to hear about things outside of the sloposphere...and this is definitely slop (haven't even read Harry Potter stuff)...but I'm proud of it!
I gave an LLM all open Bitcoin Core PRs, along with my own PRs and the ones I’ve reviewed, and asked what I should review next. I was impressed when it suggested interesting PRs that I probably wouldn’t have found just by scrolling through the list.
With one of the latest pieces I wrote, in step 2 I read the piece on video and had AI transcribe it for me. Haven't published it as a text yet, but I put up the video as a nostr vlog episode. Transcription saved me a fair bit of time vs typing it in manually

I take screen shots of option chains and let the LLM do the math for me. Annualized return vs delta (risk) etc, etc.
Ultimately, I still make the choice, I don't think an LLM can factor in an inclusion to the Russell 2000, or the 8k filing to dilute shares etc, but it strips out all of the noise that I don't want, and allows me to make more informed decisions.

I’ve had it help me extract data from a table in a PDF into CSV format. It was pretty good at that, and it would have taken me a while to accomplish it myself.
I’ve had it review tabular data for anomalies or inconsistencies, particularly in discrepancies in aggregation values. It also did pretty well with that.
It is a boon to language learning.

For the PSI series, I created and updated the monthly tables manually.
I did the quarterly one with AI straight to markdown. Worked reasonably well. Needed many adjustment queries, but still faster than building it manually would've taken me.
(I spent more time on double checking the numbers, so it took longer overall. But it did not make any mistakes.)
i've been doing all sorts of things with claude i could have never done before. i use it to make visual charts and things for my clients ad data, fed it a dry ass P&L and watched it turn it into a beatuful documents with visuals and information.

My use of AI has been limited to the free versions and always to understand the technical side of things—coding, the bitcoin mining process, how SegWit changed block sizes, and video summaries (back when that was free at the very beginning). But since the answers are always somewhat inaccurate, I stopped using it, also because I see AI as something dangerous that serves as a means of control. I have no interest in daily summaries of anything; I don't trust that they'll be accurate, and I tend to believe that in the near future, everything will just be a summary of a summary of the autophagy of unnecessary information, condensed even further. And then everyone will lose interest, and the only ones left interested will be those selling it as a revolution: "buy my course to learn how to use it."

Not really surprising, and not really personal, but on my ex job i used to reply to annoying customers via email ai answers.
Then almost all correspondence became humans wasting each others time with ai emails.
Personally I asked if Pantano tomatoes are determinate or indeterminate, or treat it as a librarian to find some citations from court docs, basically an advanced search. it's better at translating longer texts.

The most useful integration I've seen stackers actually run is using Claude Code or Aider with a local llama.cpp fallback for offline / latency-sensitive flows — main work happens against the API, but quick lookups and refactors get routed to the local model when the network is flaky or you don't want a request leaving the box.
The bottleneck for personal use is not capability — it's prompt persistence. Cursor and Claude Code both have project-memory files (.cursorrules / CLAUDE.md), Aider has its read-only context, and Continue has its custom commands. None of them sync, so switching tools means rebuilding the prompt scaffold each time.
What's not yet bridged is a portable prompt-stack format. The MCP spec gets close because servers are tool-side portable, but the prompt-and-context layer that tells the LLM how to use those tools is still per-client. A simple JSON schema for "claude.context.json" or similar that all four clients could read would compound personal productivity faster than any model upgrade.
The surprising daily uses come from chaining LLM output through Bitcoin/Lightning tools — using Claude to draft a NIP-99 marketplace listing, an LNURL-pay metadata blob, or a BIP-21 payment request URL where the syntax is fiddly and the LLM's recall of the spec is faster than reading it again. Same pattern works for Bitcoin Core RPC commands and lncli flag combinations.
Watching for whichever client ships portable prompt-stacks first — Cursor has the largest user base, Aider has the most mature OSS community, and Claude Code has the deepest Anthropic-side integration; whichever moves shifts the workflow lock-in.
