Omg no what was it!?!

That was it. My former neighbour (we have since moved) here in Canada was shocked and appalled that we travelled to Texas and the way she expressed her reasoning for why she would never set foot in Texas was to say "Ted Cruz".

I was trying to explain to her how nice and kind everyone was especially after my wife's mom died and how all the neighbours were checking on my father in law and brining food, helping with yard work etc and she was having none of it, it was like I was telling her Nazis were good people. She just stiffened up like a board and in a shrill voice said "No. Ted Cruz"

Did you tell her that Texans are very fine people?

reply

Pretty much. Imagine how she would react now that Trump is President again. Biden was in office at that point.

My only gripe with Texans is they don't walk their dogs. They just let the dog hang out in the yard. In the span of 3 months I think I saw one person walking a dog and I went for a long walk daily.

Also portion sizes are way too big.

The two things coupled together might explain why so many Texans are obese.

I’ll certainly defend Texans against a Canadian but between us, most Americans don’t like them either.

I liked almost all the Texans I met. The average Texan is a hell of a lot nicer than your average Torontonian. City people are assholes. You don't realize it when you are living in it but when you move out of the city and especially to a place city people visit you realize it pretty quick.
