Some people hate them, but I let them be. They are cool looking and harmless. I'm not an expert, but this is what people in the know identify them as:

The way they jump toward you instead of away is terrifying
Especially when you are in a vulnerable state using the bathroom.
Actually fascinating creatures, but I still wouldn't want to run into one in the dark!
