Are shitcoins coming to the LN?
The bigger issue is not whether the protocol can carry these assets. It’s whether Bitcoin communities allow Lightning’s identity to drift from “Bitcoin scaling” into “shitcoinery infrastructure.” If routing nodes begin optimizing for shitcoins volume instead of sats liquidity.
So yes, shitcoins are knocking on LN’s door.
The real battle is whether Lightning remains Bitcoin, or slowly becomes the same shitcoinery (fiat) playground, Bitcoin was meant to replace.
I could see LTC technically jumping over, but I'm not sure what the advantage would be pragmatically. LTC is already fast and easy to transfer. Maybe as a swap vehicle? Again, doesn't seem to make much sense to go through the effort.
